From: Greg Boone <Evolbaby.nul> Date: Fri, 19 Mar 2004 03:56:36 EST Fwd Date: Fri, 19 Mar 2004 10:43:08 -0500 Subject: Hats Off To George Noory! It's moments like last night's Coast To Coast show that bring back the optimist in a guy. I know most of you were tuned in and heard, for the first hour or so, Mr. Wayne Green and his buddy David Booth who professed to having a vision of another pending disaster and having met Sister Lucia of 'Fatima' fame. So Booth and Green get on the air and jabber on and the suspense mounts. They go into everything except what Sister Lucia had to say. So George Noory with the patience of a saint and the resolve of a knight in shining armor, tells Booth and Wayne that they either give up the goods or he's going to 'open lines' instead. He says he'll go to a break and then come back and at that time they either give up the secrets or 'adios'. So the break starts, we get some commercials, some neat bumper music and the suspense builds. Then the show starts again and it's George alone opening up the lines. And the fans called in to congratulate and thank Noory! One of the main problems I've had for years with UFOlogy and related phenomena is that people would jaw on for days and then hawk a book or video or seminar. Sure it's okay for a joe to make a buck to further research but too often it's way overboard and doesn't do much for their credibility. In this case, when someone says they've had a vision wherein 95% of mankind is doomed and then get on the air on a venue as huge as C2C and the first thing they do is the snakeoil routine then they should get the boot. Over the past 10 years we've had to endure endless 'come ons' and bs and no goods appear. I hate that stuff. People often ask me to write a book or do a comic on my meager yet startling UFO research but I say no. Reason being I feel the professional scientists and suffering victims should be making the dough to further their research and healing their wounds. So I just put whatever data I have out for free and if it can help so be it. I pay out of pocket for any library, travel or lab work. If I can help a researcher with funding or connecting to funding, all good. Yet what George Noory did tonight is what we all who are in media to any degree should continue to do: Put the cards on the table. Let the professional scientists and researchers do the science. No more snake-oil, dramatists and con men, nor blarneyists. Just the facts ma'am cause times are dangerous enough. Mr. Green is a brilliant, brilliant man. No doubt whatsoever on that. He knows his science and he's a war hero and very generous. We all owe him for his many inventions as well including the computers we use each day for one, yet this situation calls even for him to realize we don't have all day to sit on our hands when claims such as his guest has made. If we're going to win this battle, it'll be up to you professional scientists and researchers to do what you do best and we in the media to provide the assistance necessary for you all to present your conclusions like Mr. Bruce-Knapp does and Jeff Rense and now George Noory. I for one will be tuning in every night to C2C with the comfort of knowing that George Noory has finally seen the light and is brave enough to put his foot down. Best, Greg
