Your information that there are 5 or 6 times more Martian meteorites known than lunar ones is very inaccurate.If fact, currently the number is almost equal, with 33 Lunar meteorites known and 32 Martian meteorites. That changes the picture considerably. FYI, Lunar meteorites tend to be smaller than Martian meteorites, but there are many different factors that may account for that, including a generally greater friability or brittleness of lunaites, perhaps due to their formation on a body of much lower gravitation than Mars.
