The AVRO disc in storage at the Garber facility of the National Air and Space Museum has recently been mentioned. Here is a picture of it with me sitting on top of it:
Here is how the V173 looks in storage. The way it looks sitting there without its props looks cartoonish.

Of course I am pulling an August fools joke as this is a very public museum there. Great design! The plaque says "Built by Dr. Miethe". <g> An odd thing that intrigued me, as a Jew, is that Dr. Miethe lived in Tel Aviv for a little while following WWII. I assume if he was in Israel he was not a Jew hating antisemitic fascist.
